Virtual Greenhouse
IKEA Virtual Greenhouse is a series of masterclasses, live talks and interactive experiences from leading expert creatives in the field of food, wellbeing, sustainability and botany. Designed to help cultivate a more sustainable and balanced life at home.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has centred our lives squarely around our homes, as our homes have needed to be our sanctuaries in the uncertainty of the outside world.
With an increasing majority of the world’s population living in urban spaces, with minimal access to nature and wildlife, resulting in a greater desire to integrate the natural world into our urban homes and cityscapes an a renew interest for healthy and sustainable living practices to cultivate holistic wellbeing and self-care.
As new attitudes and behaviours are emerging, we see a growing trend in how we redefine our relationship with, and the concept of ‘home’.
From IKEA's Life at Home Report 2020 research, we’ve seen that this time has shown the majority of us that our lives at home have a great capacity to meet our emotional needs.
As we continue to live in an uncertain landscape, we have a renewed sense of purpose, a need to future-proof our homes, to re-evaluate our habits and to adopt more sustainable practices to thrive in an uncertain future.
The pandemic has provided us with an opportunity for introspection, a chance to reflect, reset and re-evaluate what’s most important to us. Resulting in a renewed desire to taking a more conscious approach to consumption and for living a more balanced life, with less.
Each masterclass provides practical insights, from Plant Care 101 to traditional water purification, to the preservation seeds.
Enabling the many to create their own home sanctuaries to thrive in these uncertain times.
